The exact substance that causes this reaction is not known, and not all cats will have an adverse reaction. However, the potential risk is high enough that grapes and raisins should be considered off-limits. 

Alcohol

While it may seem obvious to some, it’s worth emphasizing that alcohol is highly dangerous to cats. This includes not just beverages but also foods containing alcohol or fermented ingredients. Cats are much smaller than humans and have a different metabolism, so even a small amount of alcohol can be harmful. 

Xylitol

Xylitol is a sugar substitute found in many sugar-free products, including gum, candies, and some types of peanut butter. While safe for humans, xylitol is extremely toxic to cats (and dogs). Given the growing popularity of sugar-free products, it’s more important than ever to check ingredients before offering any “human food” to your cat.

]]> One Japanese bakery has decided to take their love for cats to a whole new level. They started making a variety of cat-shaped bread that quickly became a hit among their customers.

Neko Neko Shokupan, which translates to Cat Cat Sandwich Bread, the bakery offers this kawaii sliced bread in three locations in Japan: Aichi, Gifu, and Tokyo. They have several different varieties, including Plain, Chocolate, Azuki red bean, and Cheese.

During the process of making this adorable-looking bread, the bakery uses 100-percent fresh milk, which gives it “a rich, milky flavor with a soft and chewy texture.”

Crispy Tuna Treats

Ingredients

  • tuna, 1 can
  • oat flour, 1/2 cup
  • whole-wheat flour, 1/2 cup
  • 1 egg
  • olive oil, one tablespoon
  • catnip, one tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Blend all the ingredients together in a blender.
  3. Form little balls, arrange them on a baking sheet, and press lightly so they are not completely round.
  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Wait for the treats to cool down and surprise your kitty!

Salmon Sweet Potato‌ Bites

Ingredients

  • salmon, 1 can
  • mashed sweet potato, 1 1/2 cup
  • oat flour, 1 1/2 cup
  • fresh parsley, 1/4 cup 

Instructions

  1. Mix mashed sweet potato and salmon in a bowl.
  2. Put oat flour and parsley in a blender and blend together, then add to the previous mixture.
  3. Mix everything together and transfer small amounts to silicon molds with a spoon.
  4. Freeze for a few hours then get out of the freezer and treat your pet!
