What dachshunds lack in size, they make up with their courageousness and persistence. A recent viral video posted on TikTok is an excellent example of that.

The clip shows an adorable dachshund named Bob tackling a giant stuffed elephant and trying to fit it into his small bed. The dog was so keen on having a snuggle buddy that the size didn’t stop him from accomplishing his goal. He bites the toy elephant on the ear, drags it across the floor, and tries various positions before finding the right fit.

Social media users were impressed by Bob’s determination and rushed to the comments section of the clip to show how they felt.

“lol that’s awesome,” one user wrote.

“The sheer determination of a Dacshund,” another added.

Replying to one comment, Bob’s owner revealed that the family won the giant stuffed elephant at a fair. It quickly became the dachshund’s favorite toy, and they now seem inseparable.

Dachshunds are known for having a bold personality and not backing from any challenge. Their slim body isn’t stopping them from taking a stand against even bigger animals. This, alongside their loyal nature, makes them natural companions of humans and great watchdogs.

Dog owners often have problems getting their dogs to pose still in front of the camera. Dogs are energetic animals who like to fool around, so you can’t blame them for having no patience for a photo shoot. But, it looks like teenager Liam Beach from Rhondda, Wales found a trick for these situations as he managed to get all 16 of his Dachshunds to perfectly align on the stairs for the perfect photo.

Liam’s friend Catherine though it is impossible for him to get his dogs in one shot, so she promised him a box of chocolate if he could pull it off.  The 19-year-old decided to take this challenge, and 10 minutes later, he managed to earn the prize.

According to this proud dog owner, he managed to snap the photo by organizing 16 Dachshunds on the stairs, telling them to remain calm, and then getting their attention with a squeaky ball.

Liam shared the photo on social media, and it quickly went viral with internet users being amazed by the patience of the Dachshunds – Saffie, Daisy, Dudley, Wallie, Diamond, Ruby, Benjie, Buster, Bonnie, Ziggy, Sammy, Kizzy, Kiki, Zac, Duke, and Lottie – and of course, their cuteness.

“It’s amazing the amount of positive reactions I’ve had because sometimes people are judge-y about the amount of dogs I have. But I haven’t had any negative reactions to the picture at all and I’m amazed by how many people love it. It is really lovely to see,” – the 19-year-old told the media.

When they are not posing in front of camera, the 16 Dachshunds are competing in dog shows and playing with Liam, who hopes to become a grooming salon owner one day. Check out some more photos of these adorable dogs below.

Josef Küblbeck and Oliver Storz have been collecting Dachshunds memorabilia for over 25 years. They are also owners of these cute dogs, named Seppi and Moni.

Recently, Küblbeck and Storz have taken their love for the long-bodied breed to the next level by opening a new museum entirely dedicated to Dachshunds, the world’s first. The latest attraction, called Dackelmuseum (German for “Dachshund Museum”), is located in the Bavarian city of Passau.

The collection was a way to pay tribute to their favorite dog. “We are addicted to the loyalty and strength they give us, so we collect everything about dachshunds: books, toys, statues in all variations,” Storz told The Dodo.

“We had about 500 pieces to start the museum when we got a phone call from Belgium. A collector offered us 3,500 pieces,” Storz continued. “We jumped at the chance and have the biggest collection in the world now!”

There are 4,500 items on display featuring the sausage dog’s long history and some of the famous fans of this kind of breed, such as Pablo Picasso, Leonard Nimoy, and Albert Einstein.

They said that dachshunds have originated around 300 years ago. They were first bred as tiny hunter dogs and designed to get into badger burrows. The breed became so popular that a dachshund named Waldi became the first official mascot of 1972 Munich Olympics.
