This 12-Year-Old Boy Makes Beautiful Bow Ties To Help Shelter Animals Get Adopted

At the age of 2, Sir Darius Brown of Newark, New Jersey, was diagnosed with speech, comprehension, and fine motor skills delay. To overcome these problems, Brown works hard to improve his motor skills through various ways including helping his big sister cut out fabric for bows.

He was eight years old when he became interested in making bow ties and since then, he has been making bows ties and other fabric designs for fun, such as dressing up their family dog in a beautiful bow tie.

When Brown heard the devastating news about animals who’d been displaced by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma in 2017, he wanted to do something to help. He decided to use his passion of creating bow ties to donate them to the shelter animals to help them look attractive in hopes of getting them adopted faster.

He has donated countless bow ties to animal shelters and adoption centers across the USA and the UK. His pet couture company called Beaux and Paws and his endeavors are supported by famous people and celebrities including Barack Obama and NBA player Allen Houston, as well as over 45k followers on his Instagram account.
