This Cafe in Bangkok Is Adored by Dog Lovers

Corgi in the Garden is an adorable café in Bangkok, Thailand, where 12 Corgis excitedly greet customers as soon as they open the door.

The café quickly became famous among locals and tourists because of these cute dogs.  The owner, Tanchanok Kanawaong, is a huge fan of the breed because they are “lovable and funny.”

“I love big dogs and used to have up to 10 Siberian Huskies and Golden Retrievers at the same time,” Kanawaong told Bored Panda. “When they grew old and passed away, I looked for dogs with similar characteristics, only smaller in size […] and decided to get a baby boy Corgi.”

Kanawaong kept getting more Corgis, and eventually ended up with five of them. Not long after that, her Corgis had babies and she somehow had 12 Corgis. After seeing how much joy her dogs brought to customers, Kanawaong decided to manage a dog café.

“[It was] at that time when the idea of seeing them running around and sharing their energy came to me” said Kanawaong.

Pumpkin, Porkchop, Salmon, Bean, Babycorn, and all the other dogs seem to love the attention they get from humans, not to mention all the treats.

Kanawaong added, “The Corgis are trained by a professional dog trainer who uses only positive methods.”

Kanawaong keeps her Corgis fit and healthy by letting them run in the garden of the café at least three times a day. The corgis work full-time, six days a week. The café also organizes 1-hour sessions ($11 per person) for 50 customers to meet the lovable dogs. Kanawaong said this routine allows the dogs to have some rest in between so they will not be exhausted.

Kanawaong also added “that the well-being of the Corgis has always been our priority, so we’ve set up some playing rules,” Kanawaong said. “Because we have limited seating, we can’t accept reservations and provide first come, first served service to walk-in customers only.”
