Meet Sigrid, the adventurous feline who loves nothing more than going on bike rides with her owner. Sigrid is a white cat with beautiful blue eyes and curious nature. She is always on the lookout for new experiences, and going on bike rides with her owner Travis Nelson is her favorite.
Their adventure began back in 2021 when the pandemic hit. On these rides, Sigrid and her owner explore new trails and paths, discovering new sights and smells. They often stop to rest and have a snack, with Sigrid happily munching on some treats while taking in the beautiful scenery.
Despite her small size, the four-year-old cat is a fearless rider.
“Traffic doesn’t bother her in the slightest,” Nelson says. “I’m sure it helps that she is deaf—as most blue-eyed white cats are—but her fearlessness goes beyond that. I probably spoil her a bit; I think she knows I’m there to keep her safe even when she’s trying to start fights with dogs 10 times her size.”
They go for a ride usually two or three times per week and people are always excited to see them.
“It’s great to be able to spread a little good cheer to cycling, where we can often get too caught up with the car vs cyclist mentality and forget to have fun,” he adds.
