This Wildlife Organization Has The Most Successful Elephant Rescue and Rehab Program in the World

The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is best known for their work with elephants, operating the most successful orphan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world.

Orphans’ Project, the heart of the organization’s conservation activities, has achieved world-wide acclaim through its successful elephant and rhino rescue.

Over the last 40 years, they have developed an extensive, multi-faceted approach to conservation to guarantee a better and long-lasting impact for wildlife. To date, there are more than 240 orphan elephants and 17 rhinos that are successfully raised by the group, and 30 babies born to wild living orphans.

You can get involved with the organization by adopting an orphan for as little as $50 a year and you will receive freebies such as a personalized certificate and monthly updates on your baby.

Their other projects include “anti-poaching, safeguarding the natural environment, enhancing community awareness, addressing animal welfare issues, providing veterinary assistance to animals in need, rescuing and hand rearing elephant and rhino orphans, along with other species that can ultimately enjoy a quality of life in wild terms when grown,” their website reads.
