In the clip posted on Shari’s TikTok, she explains that she wanted to refinish the staircase inside her house. However, this was quite an emotional undertaking, considering that her beloved golden retriever Max, who passed away last January, loved spending his days sleeping on them. There was one particular stair that was Max’s favorite and had a big imprint of his body.
Shari ended up refinishing the stairs but made sure not to touch Max’s favorite stair, keeping it as a reminder of him. She also added a little plaque in his honor.
“I refinished my stairs… I painted the steps black. But there was one step I could NOT paint over,” Shari shared in the caption of the video, which got close to 15 million views.
Shari also shared in the comments section that she put a clear coat over Max’s stair so it doesn’t fade away over time.
“Yes! Absolutely! And I will continue to do so so it never fades,” Shari said.
