A man named Jack from Glasgow, Scotland is drawing praise from social media users after the video of him saving a seagull trapped on a street light pole became viral.
In a TikTok clip shared by a social media team from a bar named Box Glasgow, Jack can be seen climbing the pole outside the venue without any assistance or safety measures. On the top of the pole is a seagull that got himself stuck between arching pipes.
After getting on top, Jack manages to free the seagull with the bird flying off to enjoy its newfound freedom.
“Here is Jack, the famous seagul saviour outside our venue!” Box Glasgow wrote in the caption of the video while revealing that they will name a cocktail after Jack.
The video was shared across the internet, with social media users calling Jack a “hero” for his actions.
“Heroes dont always wear costumes,” one TikTok user commented.
“The real MVP!!!” another added.
Media outlet The Scottish Sun later revealed more info about Jack’s heroic actions. It turned out that the 21-year-old man was enjoying a night out with his friends when they spotted the trapped seagull. The group joked that someone should do something about it, prompting Jack to take the matter into his own hands.
