Woman Creates Baroque Art Out of Spiders

If you don’t suffer from arachnophobia and happen to love big spiders, chances are you’re going to be a fan of CarLy Haney’s work. This 28-year-old artist loves tarantulas and she creates unique baroque wall mounts out of taxidermied spiders.

“I mounted my first spider in the spring of 2014, and since have created over 100 pieces, all one of a kind and different than the last”, Carly shared ondesignyoutrust. “My work has become somewhat recognizable among my city, and though it does not appeal to everyone, the spiders draw big reactions and create a stir to any group who encounter them.”

Haney wanted to own one of these intricate pieces, but they were too expensive in her opinion. That’s why she decided to make one of her own in 2014. The artist sells her creations online and displays them in venues in Spokane, California – her hometown.
