Andrea Cira is one of the most talented paper artists that you’ll ever come across, and nature holds a special place in her heart. Many of her magical paper creations are inspired by flora and fauna, and she’s on top of her game when she’s working on her show-stopping bird 3D models.
Cira is a founder of Acira Studio based in Kansas City, but she actually grew up in Mexico. She was constantly surrounded by vibrant colors and traditional crafts in her youth, and they shaped who she is as an artist.
“I learned the importance of creating something with my own hands and the value of the time and effort put into everything handmade. This upbringing has influenced my creative process, and I strive to incorporate these same values into every piece I make,” she wrote on her official website.
Cira studied industrial design in college, and her academic background prepared her for her journey as an illustrator and paper artist. All the skills she acquired along the way came in handy when she started working on her 3D paper model, from sketching and photography to using Photoshop and Lightroom.
Cira is open to exploring many different themes through her art, but animals are definitely her favorite subjects. She’s on top of her game whenever she’s making 3D models of birds, especially parrots, and she’s using paper in many different shades to capture their vibrant nature.
