The rescuers built like a ladder from some pallets stored in some of the park employees’ truck and after seeing the ladder, the skunk realized this was his ticket out. With guidance from the rescuers, the lone animal eventually made his way up to the ramp and left the park on its own accord.

]]>The park rangers saw the parent elephants nearby and seemed to be waiting for their babies to climb out of the pit and join them before moving on. The rangers immediately knew that they have to help the baby elephants to reunite them with their family.
However, the team didn’t have the equipment to help the baby elephants right away and so someone kept watch on them overnight until the necessary tools could be brought over the next day. Ultimately, the rangers were able to start digging like a ramp into the mud pit so that the baby elephants would be able to climb out safely. Slowly, the babies made their way out of the mud pit and they seemed to be perfectly fine after their suffering.
If the Rangers hadn’t helped them get out, there’s a possibility they wouldn’t survive. Fortunately, they have safely reunited with their family thanks to the park rangers.

]]>“I’m not the hero who rescued an orphaned baby fox from the wild. This isn’t that story,” writes the owner on Juniper’s Instagram page. “I want to use my Instagram to be an educational resource. She’s still a fox and acts like a fox. … It takes much more time and patience to care for her than it would [a dog or cat].”
She explains that foxes are messy pets who pee everywhere and smell horrid. Her ultimate goal? Stopping the misinformation that has started the trend of having foxes as novelty pets. They are hard work, but they are cute, right? See for yourself.

]]>“The calendar was started in 2009 by retired Vancouver Police Sergeant Mike Anfield in honor of his wife, VPD Constable Candy Anfield who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2004,” Anne-Marie Clark, Social Media Liaison officer for the Vancouver Police Department, told Bored Panda. “Proceeds from the sale of the calendars go towards the B.C. Cancer Foundation and B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation.”
“The police dogs all followed their handlers instructions during the photo shoots and were good dogs,” Clark continued. “You can see their personalities showing through in the pics. PSD Brando really is as cool as he looks with his sunglasses on. PSD Bailey loves a quick break in a local coffee shop. PSD Jack takes his job seriously and is always determined to get to the truth when it comes to interviewing suspects!”
According to Clark, they have 15 dog teams in the VPD Canine unit and each team is composed of a police service dog and their handler.
“The police services dogs are important to our department because they are trained in a variety of disciplines which include: tracking, criminal apprehension, evidence recovery, narcotics, firearms and explosives detection. The Canine Unit responds to over 10,000 calls for service each year in the city of Vancouver, and to Lower Mainland police agencies who require the services of a police dog and handler.”
You can buy the calendar for $15 thru their website.
