“I used to be a flight attendant, but I missed home and wanted to work with animals,” Raphael told Bored Panda. “So I opened the day care in 2016 and immediately started taking group pictures of all the dogs. Now it’s my thing!”

She originally started taking pictures so that the dog’s owners could see what their dogs did all day. She soon started having more fun with the photos – during the holidays she comes up with themes for the photos.

You may wonder how she is able to get the puppies to pose so picture perfectly.

“There are no treats or toys involved — they’re all just the best dogs,” she said. “Don’t get me wrong though — it does take a few attempts. Especially when they’re wearing something!”

When Raphael isn’t taking pictures of her furry friends, Raphael added that when she is not busy taking the photos with her four-legged friends, they spend their morning exploring the woods.

Six dogs competed in the final round after Colton the schipperke, who won the non-sporting group, was disqualified due to a conflict of interest between the dog’s owners and the family of Best in Show judge, Peter Green.

“Tonight is about the performance, which one really asks for it,” Green said. “They’re all beautiful.”

“After you win this magnificent show there’s really nothing else to win. He should be running around in a field of grass,” Rangel (King’s handler) said moments after King won the terrier group and claimed the top trophy over finalists from five other groups.

Through their images, the photographers gives us the opportunity to travel around the globe through the lenses of their cameras. The contest honored these explorers and photographers by accepting global entries across three categories—Nature, Cities, and People.

For this year, 2019, the grand prize of $7000 went to Weimin Chu for his captivating Winter in Greenland photograph. His picture shows a small fishing village in Upernavik, with brightly colored homes shining brightly amidst the fog and snow.

Other top winners include; Huaifeng Li’s Showtime image, which won 1st Place in the People category and captures actors preparing for an evening opera performance in Licheng County, China. Winning 1st Place in the Nature category, Tamara Blazquez Haik’s photograph of a griffon vulture—titled Tender Eyes— perfectly timed to capture the bird soaring through the skies in Monfragüe National Park in Spain.

In March 2019 he had an opportunity to visit Russia where he spent two weeks discovering the vast area of a frozen lake. In Siberia, he was able to feel how wonderful and unpredictable nature can be. He was amazed ice could would look so beautiful, yet so delicate. What initially was a getaway trip later turned into a photographing adventure.

After he discovered the frozen lake, he couldn’t keep his camera down. He had discovered a unique world of frozen water and wanted to document everything. He took photos of unimaginable ice formation made from crystal water and spectacular shapes and spikes inside of ice caves.

Everything looks different with its own shape and style. After uploading the photos on his Instagram page, people couldn’t get enough of the frozen beauty.
