Smiths initially believed they were victims of a harmless ding-dong ditch prank by some teens from the neighborhood. However, they decided to check out the Ring security camera just in case. What they found out was beyond their wildest guess.

It turned out there were no mischievous teens involved but that a wild bear was the one to pull out the prank. The footage shared by Smith on Facebook shows a bear approaching the door, hitting the doorbell, and then quickly running away.

“Last night we were a victim of the good old fashioned ding dong ditch, but this time it wasn’t being performed by a teenager,” Smith captioned the video.

When reached out by Storyful, Smith said that the couple was sleeping and that virtual assistant Alexa told them someone was at the door.

“It had been storming that night, and my wife heard the Alexa say that there was someone at our front door,” Smith told Storyful. “She woke me up letting me know, and I told her that there wasn’t anyone there.”

Smith inspected the footage from the Ring camera the next morning and ended up finding who the culprit was.

The video shows a mama bear taking her five cubs to a children’s playground and letting them get the most of it. The baby bears don’t waste any time, going up and down the slide, while playfully fighting each other during breaks. Some of them even managed to get on a swing and take a few turns before falling down.

“This was taken in our backyard,” said the person who recorded the video. “It is supposedly a mom and five cubs, two of which are suspected to be adopted from a different litter.”

Following a hard day’s work, two fishermen decided to take a break and fell asleep on the beach of the Pacific Ocean. While the men were sleeping, a curious bear cub approached them and started exploring around.

At one moment the cub stepped on one man’s foot causing him to wake. After seeing the bear in front of him, the man started yelling in an attempt to scare the animal and get his friend’s attention. While the cub quickly got the message and started running away, his friend took a while to react to the danger and get up.

Ilya Nikolsky, who was drinking tea with some friends nearby, managed to capture this funny situation on camera and later shared it on social media.

“We started shouting to the fishermen to wake up, but because of the surf of the ocean we could not be heard,” – Nikolsky explained in a chat with For The Win Outdoors. “We were afraid that the bear was coming for the fishermen, but fortunately the bear was small.”

Nikolsky added that the bear cub later came back in hopes to get some food from the fishermen before walking away.

A resident of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, was enjoying her breakfast on the balcony of her house when she heard the noise from the first story deck. After looking down, she was in for a big surprise. 

“I was on the upper deck eating an oatmeal snack and heard a noise below me.” – shared the woman. “When I looked over the railing there was a black bear walking on the railing of the deck below me.”

The woman got out her phone and started filming.

“She looked up at me and snorted, probably smelled my snack, and then started to climb the pole to the upper deck.” – she added.

Seeing the animal’s determination, the woman decided to go into her house and closed the door. When she turned around, the bear was already on the balcony trying to locate the meal.

“It happened so quickly that I was basically speechless.” – the woman described the encounter.

She decided to share the video of the acrobatic bear with Viral Hog, and the clip quickly became viral. The internet users were impressed by the bear’s efforts to get himself a breakfast with some even wishing there were there so they could pet the animal.
