Animals enjoy celebrating birthdays and enjoy being showered with treats just as much as humans. This is why the Pennsylvania Zoo recently decided to throw a cute birthday party for their 60-year-old Aldabra tortoise Henry and made sure he enjoyed his special day to the fullest.
After realizing that Henry is about to be six decades old, Clyde Peeling’s Reptiland knew that they had to do something special. So, they started putting together a party for the tortoise, announcing the event on social media and inviting everyone to come and join the festivities.
When the big day came, zookeepers decorated the place and even put on a birthday cap for Henry. Then, the birthday boy got treated with a gorgeous looking cake made out of his favorite fruit that he got to devour all by himself. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Clyde Peeling’s Reptiland later shared a video from the party, which amazed animal lovers and quickly went viral.
Zoo’s spokesperson Kalin Palmatier told INSIDER that they often do these kinds of celebrations for their animals and like to have visitors take part in the events.
“We decided to throw him a special party for this milestone because we love to treat our animals on special occasions like this,” – said Palmatier. “We felt turning 60 warranted a celebration!”
