]]>“He was really attached to me. He’s a sensitive dog like he loves to snuggle. Every opportunity he gets he just climbs right up in my lap. And trust me, there is not enough room for a 60-pound dog,” Carson’s mom told The Dodo. “I’m trying to work from home at my office desk and he gets annoyed that I’m not paying him enough attention.”
Unfortunately, the dog has some skin issues and allergies, but now he has the best family and enjoys all the attention he is given.
“He just wants love from everyone. People want to give him attention, he will gladly return it,” his mom said. “Sometimes I look back at that video and I’m like, ’How is this even the same dog?’”

]]>“I think part of it is that he wants to be up front with us because the second that we let him kind of scoot his way forward, then he stops,” his mom Amanda Gentile told The Dodo. “So a lot of times he’ll shove his head through. He likes to put his head on the driver’s side. He likes to be right there in your ear. Which I think he does it because he knows that’s it loud.”
The Charlotte, North Carolina based canine soon realized that the more he does it, the faster he will be let upfront. Fortunately, his parents got used to it.
“Depending on where we’re going, his noises change. Like, if he knows we’re going to the park it’s a different kind of sound. Even when we go to the vet. So I feel he kind of knows where we’re going and then what sound to make when we’re going there,” Gentile added.

“We tried to get him out, and it took us quite a while. But he eventually came out,” Romano revealed. “When I found out that he didn’t in fact belong to anyone, I was like, ’We just got a dog!’”
But, sadly, after three weeks Buddy disappeared. He was chasing some little animal and got lost in the woods. His mom was so devastated, so she began looking for him in every animal shelter in their home town. Fortunately, Buddy was found.
“When I got him back, it really did solidify that he was meant to be our dog,” she said.

When he got comfortable in his new home, Ziggy showed his true personality. He is very clumsy and does a thing which his owner calls ‘sharking.’
“He will dive-bomb the carpet and rub his face in the floor with his butt sticking up and his front paws behind him,” she explained. “Yeah, he’s just really uncoordinated. On the occasion he does decide to play with our other dog, he’s just really awkward about it. He tries to keep up and he doesn’t do a great job. He’s really clumsy.”

]]>The two dogs share a special bond, OJ, being blind pooch, relies on Blue Dozer as his guide wherever he goes. The woman who first introduced them to each other adopted the pit bull about four years ago and already got the dachshund. Unfortunately, she became homeless and couldn’t keep them anymore so she decided to bring them to the shelter but insisted that they’d stay together.
They were adopted together but not for long, as OJ was found on the side of a rural road 100 miles away from his BFF Blue Dozer, who was safe in their new adoptive home. It’s not clear how OJ ended up stranded, but luckily he was brought to the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center near Staunton by a man who said that he found the dog on the road and he seemed stray to him. The shelter scanned OJ’s microchip and found his new owner and when they called her, she said the shelter can keep OJ, but wouldn’t give up Blue Dozer.
“A day after their adoption (Monday) I received a text with a picture of OJ from a volunteer that works with the Shenandoah shelter,” Christie Chipps Peters, director of Richmond Animal Care & Control (RACC), the shelter that adopted out the dogs, told People. “We confirmed that this was, in fact, OJ, and set a time to retrieve him from their shelter the following day. Staff reached out immediately to the adopter to find out what had happened and confirmed that OJ had been given to a friend and somehow ended up at the shelter and that she had, in fact, relinquished ownership of him to said shelter.”
Peters contacted the original adopter, asking her to allow the dogs to be together. Eventually, the adopter agreed to give Blue Dozer back to RACC to be reunited with OJ. The shelter shared a photo of the two dogs after their reunion, which she captioned, “I am very glad to announce that both OJ and Blue Dozer have just been reunited and are safely back at RACC.”

]]>Office Travis Frost and his companion went to investigate and as they drove through the neighborhood, they saw a pit bull-type dog chilling on someone’s porch.
“He [Frost] gets out of his car, but you don’t know how these dogs are going to react … so he left his door open on his patrol unit in case he needed a place to retreat to,” Shawn Vaughn, public info officer for the Texarkana Texas Police Department, told The Dodo.
Even though this dog looked frightening to the caller, Frost immediately realized the dog wasn’t any kind of threat and just a big gentle pooch.
“He whistled to the dog to get his attention,” Vaughn said. “The dog just trotted over to him with his tail wagging. Obviously, the dog wasn’t aggressive at all, and he figured that out almost immediately.”
Frost gave the dog lots of pets and scratches and snapped some photos when the furry buddy jumped into his patrol car.
The police called animal control officers who helped find the dog’s owner. Luckily, the dog didn’t stay long at the shelter, thanks to his microchip information. Even though it was outdated, the staffs were quick to locate the owner and the American Bully, whose name was Gold, was reunited with his family the next day.
After the incident, Vaughn decided to share it on Facebook and it quickly went viral. “I’m completely blown away by the response that this post has had,” Vaughn gushed. “It’s been phenomenal.”
He hopes that this story will help people see American bullies and other similar breeds of dog in a better point of view.
“Pit bulls have a bit of a bad reputation,” Vaughn said on Facebook. “Travis said that, while you should always be careful around any dog that you don’t know, you shouldn’t automatically assume that all pit bulls [and similar-looking dogs] are bad dogs. They might be really loving like this guy was this morning.”
