]]>RSPCA received a tip about an injured fox in the woods of Surrey County, England, and dispatched Fitzcosta to help the animal. Arriving on the scene, Fitzcosta saw a fox and laid down his phone in order to film the rescue.
But before he knew it, fox approached the phone, grabbed it with her mouth, and then ran away. As it turned out, this was another fox who just happened to be curious about the phone and wanted to test its videography skills.
Fox ended up leaving the phone at one point, allowing Fitzcosta to retrieve it. Once he looked it up, he realized that it was recording the whole time.
RSPCA later shared the entire video on its social media channels, and it is safe to say it was an amazing watch.
Fitzcosta ended up finding the injured fox and brought it back to Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue for treatment.
“I did find the injured fox and managed to rescue her, she is now being treated at Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue as she has an inflamed leg from an old injury. Hopefully she will make a full recovery,” Fitzcosta shared in RSPCA’s press release.

]]>Foxes are known to be great hunters, but it turns out they have one competitive advantage. According to studies, foxes can sense Earth’s magnetic field and use it to determine the distance between them and their prey. This allows them to be more accurate in their attacks.
Foxes belong to the same family of animals as dogs and wolves. But unlike them, foxes are solitary animals. They hunt alone, sleep alone, and avoid socialization most of the time.
You have probably seen videos on the internet of foxes laughing. But while it isn’t actually a laugh in the way humans do it, it is a testament to the ability of foxes to produce a range of different sounds. Some scientists estimate that foxes can produce up to 40 different sounds.
People have been known to fear foxes, but there is no need for that. While wild foxes can be dangerous, they are usually not aggressive. Their curious and playful nature makes them actually friendly, and there have been cases in which they were successfully domesticated.

]]>“Juniper is SASSY. I’ve never met anyone, human or animal more sassy than she is. She’s will always let me know exactly how she feels about something. If she dislikes what’s going on she’ll walk over, ears back, and scream at me, then casually walk away. (Yes, foxes can scream),” Coker shared on their personal website.
She highlights that raising a fox isn’t a simple task; they require a special diet, a fenced yard, a specialized vet and they love to bite.
“Foxes naturally guard their resources, this means they are prone to biting when you’re near something they find valuable and don’t want you to take. This is a natural instinct for them and not something you can or should punish them for. This is part of raising any wild creature,” Junpier’s mom added.

]]>SaveAFox founder Mikayla Raines recently decided to have a yoga workout on the shelter’s grounds, thinking that it would be peaceful to exercise among foxes. Oh, how wrong she was.
Raines placed her phone on the ground to take a video of her yoga exercises and immediately noticed that one of the rescue’s residents, named Dixie, was becoming interested in the phone. She tried to warn the fox not to touch it, but it was already too late.
Dixie grabbed the phone and tried to make a run for it. The mischievous animal made several attempts to bury her treasure as well, but with Raines pursuing her, she abandoned the idea. At last, seeing that she will not be able to succeed, the fox gave up and handed the phone.

Within each piece are also beautiful layers of gold and copper painted accents. Once hung these accents are like little jewels, catching the magical light of the day.”

]]>“I got lucky to work with Joy’s Pets, based in Gloucestershire, UK. Amongst your more exotic animals like reptiles, owls and hedgehogs they now house a small family of foxes. Of course, I took up the challenge of shooting these beautiful but wild creatures and I was so thrilled with the result of the images,” described Buckle.
The photographer met with two foxes Ruda and Jaeger, who are mostly domesticated and are used to interacting with people. Still, this is not something you do every day, so Buckle didn’t know what to expect. Most of her previous models included cats and dogs, and this was uncharted territory for her.
Rhiannon had two photo shoots in the course of a year with these friendly foxes and she seems to be more than satisfied with the final result. Scroll down to see some foxy images.
