American artist Robert De Jesus transforms photographs of people and their pets into animated version of themselves. He has many descriptions to his name; De Jesus is a self-taught illustrator, animator, and writer who loves anime and manga so much that he started creating his own project.
“I got into drawing and Anime during high school,” De Jesus told Bored Panda. “Years later, when I started attending anime/manga shows as a guest around the US, the Anime caricatures became a favorite with my followers and since then I kept making them.”
Thanks to his remarkable work, the artist got the opportunity to work with big brand names such as Antarctic press, Marvel, and PlayStation Magazine.
De Jesus has many requests from people all around the world to create custom portraits.
“I wish I could draw all of [the requests], but I fear I’ll get burned out trying,” he added. “My plan was to do these as a side thing to help fund the other projects I am also dying to work on.”
