Christine Rogers Will Help You Discover the Magic of Beachcombing

Beachcombing seamlessly blends the thrill of uncovering unexpected treasures with the charm of being surrounded by nature. Christine Rogers, who described herself as a hoarder of salty junk, truly elevated beachcombing to an art form, and she’ll inspire you to give it a shot.

Rogers is a creative force behind Saltyjunk Studio, and she’s living her best life on Canada’s East Coast. She spent years exploring the rugged shores of Newfoundland and beaches of Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, looking for tiny treasures within the maritime landscape.

She describes herself as a “chronic collector” of the fragments of the sea, ranging from seashells and snails to sea urchins and crab claws. In addition to collecting them, she has a special talent for arranging them into picture-perfect works of art, breathing a new life into these coastal treasures.

For Rogers, beachcombing isn’t all about creating her own collection of impressive finds – it also helps her lead a meaningful life, allowing her to reconnect with nature every chance she gets.

“While I love the end result of beachcombing – having such a wonderful range of shells and other nature finds to play with and to display – I also simply enjoy being outside, exploring, and experiencing the sights, smells, and sounds of the sea,” she told Sentimental Journal.
