Nikita Drachuk is Capturing the Beauty of Octopuses Through His Glass Art

Octopuses are one of the most fascinating marine animals, but what if we told you that you could have one at home… well, kind of. Nikita Drachuk loves these curious creatures as much as we do, and he’s celebrating their unique beauty through his octopus-shaped glass creations.

Drachuk is the mastermind behind Glass Symphony, and he’s been mastering his craft for over two decades. The Ukrainian glass artist often draws inspiration from nature, crafting glass sculptures inspired by many different animals over the years, and octopuses seem to be his latest obsession.

After figuring out the shapes, Drachuk started experimenting with colors, from electric blues to fiery oranges.

“Each octopus gets its own unique vibe. Some are bold and bright, while others are more subdued with hints of shimmering gold or silver. It’s like they each have their own little personality, staring back at me with those cute glass eyes,” he told Bored Panda.

Drachuk’s glass figurines can be used as decorations, but he believes there’s more to them than meets the eye. He sees them as reminders of the beauty and wonder of the ocean that have the power to transport you to the deep sea and reconnect you with vibrant colors and graceful movements of marine life.
