These are Some of the Biggest Birds in the World

Birds come in many shapes and sizes, and some of them are terrifyingly big. Some birds are way bigger than us. We’ve compiled a list of three of the biggest birds in the world and some facts about them.

Ostrich

An ostrich is officially the largest bird in the world. It weighs around 230 pounds and grows to 7 feet tall on average, while some can grow to up to 9 feet. Ostriches are fast so don’t get in a situation where they can chase you. In fact, they are the fastest two-legged creatures in the world.

Emu

An emu is basically a smaller ostrich and the second largest bird in the world. Emus are usually 5 to 6-feet tall. They hatch eggs that are so big and they are dark green – they resemble giant avocados.

Dalmatian Pelican

The Dalmatian Pelican lives in Europe and Asia and it looks pretty impressive. They get around 6 feet tall and weighs 33 lb, with an impressive wingspan of 9 feet. These birds live in colonies that can have up to 250 pairs and their ability to fit a lot of fish in their mouth is impressive.
