Biologist Showcases Insect Flight in Amazing Super Slow Motion

Most people have trouble appreciating the beauty of insects. They are small, often annoying, and too fast for us to even acknowledge them as something else than a black spot flying around us. But a recent viral video from biologist Dr. Adrian Smith might change your perception.

In the past couple of months, Smith embarked on a quest to find the most interesting insects he could and to film them in a way it hasn’t been done before. This led to an amazing clip that shows various insects taking off and flying in super slow motion.

For his video, Smith decided to concentrate on insects that haven’t been prominently featured in similar settings before, including firefly, rosy maple moth, stonefly, and several others.  The results are truly magnificent, so we recommend you to watch the shots below.
