Do You Know What a Rabbit Binky Is?

When rabbits are simply too happy about something, they do a thing called “binky”. What is a binky?

If you’ve ever seen a rabbit binky, you were probably wondering if he was okay. It’s a distinctive movement when a rabbit jumps into the air and twists its head and body in the opposite directions, before falling back. They do it while standing or while running. It’s a sure sign of happiness and a joy to watch.

Not all bunnies binky. Some do it all the time, and some hardly at all, and that doesn’t mean they are any less happy. It’s all about their individual temperament. Some bunnies just do a head flick, and some are done with a simple ear flick. But it can get pretty funny when they have big ears!

If you imitate the binky, your pet bunny will get the message – some of them will binky back to show you that they are as happy as you are. Just don’t try the full, real binky. A head/ear twist will be enough.
