We’re More Similar to Slugs Than You’d Expect – Here’s How Much DNA We Share

If you were asked out of nowhere how much in common we have with slugs, what would your response be? Probably something along the lines of “nothing”. Well, think again.

The ways humans and slugs are so different are basically visual. We’re big, they are small. We’re mammals, they are… well, slugs. Seriously, we’re so much different when you look at us from the outside.

On the other hand, we both have lungs, we use oxygen to survive, our cells work in the same way, we’ve got eyes, brains, reproductive systems, biologically the same reproductive systems, stomachs, kidneys, and the list goes on and on.

It’s crazy but true – humans and snails share 70% of DNA.
