They were immediately welcomed by Loki, a Staffordshire Terrier. The two pups were separated by a wooden fence, but it didn’t stop these two from interacting. Lola’s owner, Amber Monte told The Dodo, “We’ve never lived next to other dogs before, and Lola was so excited to see another dog so often!”

“When Loki was in his garden he’d always jump up at the fence and look for Lola, as he knew she was usually there.” Monte described Lola as shy and hesitant around larger dogs. But for some reason, she always wanted to spend her time outside with Loki.

“They are so excited to see each other when they play—there’s lots of jumping around, running, lots of kissing! They are inseparable when they are together,” Monte said.

The clip, which has since gone viral across social media, shows a golden retriever named Trey mistaking a tree branch for a stick. Then, thinking he needed to fetch it, he went for it even though the branch was hovering over a river.  

The dog managed to get the branch but he soon discovered that it might not have been the smartest thing. Not only was he soaking wet, but he also couldn’t get it to the shore and be instead swim on the spot. The poor Trey continued trying while his owner continued laughing.

“We were faced with a painful decision: Have Jake’s eyes removed or have him put to sleep.”

Fortunately, they were contacted by a number of owners of blind dogs telling them that their dogs went on to live a normal and happy life after losing their sight. Their vet also told them that sight is only number 3 on the dog’s list of senses. Smell and hearing are more important to them.

They decided to have Jake’s eyes removed. “Immediately after waking up from surgery, our vet said that Jake began wagging his tail. “His months of pain were over, and he was letting us know!”

Their other Golden pooch Addie has also stepped up and helped Jake get accustomed to his new life. Over the last couple of years, Addie became a loyal guide and companion to Jake.
