“The Blue Brick” Makes Wearable Art Inspired by Birds

Would you wear clothes that are basically wearable art inspired by birds and nature? That’s exactly what these two fiber fanatics are creating. Kyle Vey of Knitaholic TO and Shireen Nadir of The Blue Brick Yarns cooperated on creating a line of clothes that’s simply amazing.

“Our collaborative works all begin with a photograph taken by myself, or my husband Tito, on adventures across Canada and around the world,” Shireen explains. “The chosen photo becomes the inspiration for a gradient yarn (ombré) that I develop to match perfectly with the original image.”

What’s next? “Kyle then takes the yarn and designs a wearable, textured piece; leveraging his own background in engineering. His unique eye for construction sets him apart from the knits that you might expect, constructing pieces that are contemporary and modern without sacrificing function.”

We’re loving it, how about you?
