Though it’s spelled differently in different languages, cat’s meowing is a unique and recognizable trait our furry pets share no matter where in the world they live.

Most of the time, a meow is a demand. Your cat either wants to be fed, petted, or simply entertained. Cats use meows exclusively for communication with humans. Adult cats don’t use vocal communication with each other, but rather communicate through eye contact, movement, and scent.

Cats would usually start calling you with short, high-pitched meows, but if you don’t respond immediately, the meows will become lower in pitch and longer. In specific situations, a cat behave strangely in combination with odd meows, which means you should probably take it to the vet.

As you can see, most of the meows are perfectly harmless and just a way of communication with you! Enjoy that attention and keep your kitty happy!
