Adorable Sphynx Cat Looks Like a Baby Bat

When Zilla Bergamini adopted her new pet, a Sphynx cat she later named Lucy, she knew that the cat looked different from her littermates. Only when she took Lucy to the vet, did Zilla found out that the kitty suffers from a rare neurological condition called hydrocephalus, caused by an abnormal accumulation of fluid in her brain.

This didn’t stop Zilla from taking Lucy home and taking good care of her. She read a lot about Lucy’s condition and was prepared to give her the best care possible. Unfortunately, the Sphynx had digestive and eye problems in the meantime, but with the help of the “amazing veterinarian,” she managed to overcome them.

Now Lucy is healthy and beautiful, and even though she needs more medical attention than other cats, this doesn’t stop her from living her best life. She even became a social media sensation because of her rare condition that makes her look like an adorable baby bat.

“She is more delicate than a ‘normal’ cat, but it isn’t always a death sentence. Like humans, pets can have disabilities but live happy lives and they can give as much love as any other pet, if not more,” Zilla told Love Meow.

“She loves going out. She sits in a baby stroller or inside a bag and enjoys the view. Every time we go out, she tries to sneak inside one of the two.”
