We love the fact that dogs are protective. But sometimes, they take this habit too seriously, and it can result in all sorts of funny situations.
TikTok user @jen.and.teddy recently shared one of these situations in a clip posted on social media. The video shows Labrador retriever Teddy watching his reflection in the mirror while being snuggled in a blanket. Soon, Teddy starts growling at the reflection, probably thinking some dog dared to enter his household.
It didn’t help that Teddy’s human was trying to tell the dog that he was looking at himself. Teddy didn’t calm down until he approached the mirror and sniffed the “intruder,” only to realize there was no danger.
“I never claimed he was clever,” Teddy’s human wrote in the caption of the video.
As it turns out, it isn’t uncommon for Teddy to be overprotective.
“We can’t move anything in the garden without him having an issue with it. Postman left a parcel in the garden and the way Ted reacted I thought someone was breaking in!” @jen.and.teddy shared while responding to one of the comments on the video.
The TikToker later also added that Teddy doesn’t just see his reflection or postman as a threat, he also has beef with snowmen. But we understand him, it is always better to be safe than sorry.
