Reddit User Spots a Rare Albino Deer in the Wild

Albino deer are pretty rare. According to official data, only one in every 30,000 deer is an albino deer. This is why some people don’t know they even exist.

Reddit user u/Chewythenewfie was recently fortunate enough to spot one of them in the wild. Before he managed to get away, she captured a video of the encounter and later shared it on the r/aww subreddit.

The clip shows an albino deer standing in front of a row of trees and staring at u/Chewythenewfie and her dog, which joined her for a walk. The wild animal doesn’t seem to be scared at all but rather curious.

The dark color of the trees resulted in an eye-catching contrast that demonstrated the full beauty of the albino deer. The video quickly captured the attention of Reddit users, who gave it more than 18K upvotes.

“It’s surreal! I was so shocked i’m just happy i picked up my camera so I could remember it! pure beauty,” u/Chewythenewfie wrote while responding to one comment.

Albino deer suffer from a lack of pigmentation, which causes them to have white fur and pink eyes. Some of them have black noses like regular deer, while others, like in the case of one that  u/Chewythenewfie, can have pale noses.
