Twitter User Shares the Story of How Her Parents “Adopted” a Raccoon

Raccoons are far from ideal pets, being unpredictable, high maintenance, and won’t hesitate to bite you. Still, this didn’t prevent Twitter) user Stacy Jo Rost’s parents from adopting one.

Rost, who works as a radio host at Seattle Sports, shared the story on social media about how she found out her parents adopted a wild raccoon when she visited them for Christmas.

According to Rost, her parents lost their dog two years ago and had a hard time dealing with it.

“Unfortunately my stepdad, Rick, has found the worst way to cope: feeding a one-year old raccoon and letting him live on their porch. His name is Little Rick aka Rickoon,” Rost wrote in the post while attaching a photo of Little Rick.

Rost went on to share more about Little Rick, revealing that her parents are treating the little trash panda with all sorts of goodies. They are making him breakfast, giving him toys, and have even crafted a bed so he can sleep in.

Of course, Rost tried to explain to her parents that having a raccoon as a pet is a bad idea, but it is safe to say that they didn’t take her advice.

“Little Rick is his dog now, I can’t change this,” Rost added. “He got him a little bed and giant blueberries. I did not get either of those things for Christmas.”
